The DSC WS4916 s a wireless photoelectric smoke detector with a fixed temperature threshold, a rate of rise heat detector, and an internal piezoelectric alarm. The WS4916 is low-profile wireless smoke detector that is ideal for difficult-to-wire residential or commercial applications. Compatible with all DSC 433 MHz wireless receivers, the WS4936 features a built-in alarm horn, integral dual-sensor heat detection, automatic drift compensation, and an easy-maintenance removable smoke chamber. With no wires to run, installers are able to save time and move more quickly through the installation process. All the WS4936 requires for installation is a screwdriver and any DSC 433 MHz wireless receiver.
DSC is committed to reducing false alarms and has integrated a number of features into the WS4936 to provide reliable detection. One important feature is drift compensation. It provides a constant level of sensitivity performance for extended operation. As dust accumulates in a detector it adjusts to maintain the original factory-set sensitivity, thereby minimizing the potential for false alarms. If the detector reaches its limit of compensation, it will indicate a trouble condition well before the sensitivity increases to a level where false alarms will be generated. The smoke detector will go into alarm when the signal level exceeds the "alarm" threshold and automatically restore when the signal level falls below the alarm "restore" threshold.
During an alarm, the LED will flash 1/second and the sounder will sound the temporal evacuation pattern. The heat detector (cULus versions only) will go into alarm when the heat signal level exceeds the heat alarm threshold (135®F/57®C); and will automatically restore when the heat signal level falls below the heat alarm threshold (restore). The detector will also go into heat alarm if there is a rapid increase in the temperature over a short period of time. During an alarm, the LED will flash 1/second and the sounder will sound the temporal evacuation pattern. The smoke detector will go into alarm when the signal level exceeds the "alarm" threshold and automatically restore when the signal level falls below the alarm "restore" threshold. During an alarm, the LED will flash 1/second and the sounder will sound the temporal evacuation pattern.
The WS4936 has built-in tamper protection and the removal of the detector from the mounting plate initiates a "tamper" transmission. The tamper condition is restored after the detector is mounted on the plate. A supervisory message is transmitted to the control panel at 64-minute intervals for the WS4936 and 12-minute intervals for the WS4936EU/WS8936 models. If the signal is not received the control panel determines that the detector is missing.
