Send remote control signals to your satellite dish, cable box, or VCR using a standard IR remote, even if the component you wish to control is located in another room. The Xantech RF/IR Injector delivers your IR signals over your coaxial cable, regardless of the distance to the actual component. Simply attach any Dinky Link Quick Connect Receiver with a 3.5mm stereo mini plug to the RF/IR Injector, which attaches to your coax cable between the satellite or cable input and the television you'll be watching. The IR Signal Coax Cable Coupler extracts the IR commands on the other end and delivers them to the satellite dish or other component via a stick-on IR emitter. The IR Receiver, IR Signal Coax Cable Splitter/Injector, and IR emitter are sold separately, as is a 12-Volt Regulated Power Supply, which is required to power the RF/IR Injector.
Located in remote rooms, the RF/IR Injector injects the remote control signal into the room-to-room coaxial cable and passes it to a coupler in the main room or equipment area. The injector has two F-type coaxial jacks, one IR receiver 3.5mm mini stereo jack, and one 2.1mm power jack. In the equipment area, the IR Signal Coax Cable Splitter/Injector extracts the remote control signal from the coaxial cable and passes it to the emitters that control the source equipment. Any of the Xantech single or dual emitters may be plugged directly into the 3.5mm mono mini emitter jacks, in any combination, for control of up to four components.
If you'll be configuring multiple rooms, be sure the RF splitters used are DC passing types. Be sure to install a DC IR Signal Blockon the cable line of any television set in a room without an IR receiver to prevent the IR control signal from shorting out.
